Lately, I have had several clients ask about bridal sessions and why they should have them done. So we decided to write about it!
A bridal session is exactly what it sounds like, an entire session dedicated to you and your dream dress before your wedding day.
Picture this: You, in your dress, hair and makeup done, in a beautiful location. Sounds pretty great, right?!
What’s even better is, it’s not your wedding day! There is so much less pressure on the day of a bridal shoot and because of that, you are able to enjoy the session (and your big day) that much more.
Bonus: A bridal session opens up time on the day of your wedding that you may have dedicated specifically to bridal portraits.
The Ultimate Trial Run
Treat today as an opportunity to bring your bridal vision to life. After all, you are the centerpiece of your wedding day! Today is the day to put all of the details together and perfect them without the pressure or time limits of your wedding day.
Get with your hair and make-up artist for trail runs and contact your florist about a mock bouquet to have for the day. This way you can see exactly what you will also look like for your wedding day and is a great opportunity to make any changes if you would like.

When scheduling your bridal session, we recommend scheduling it far enough in advance for (1.) your photos to be edited (2.) allow time for shipping for prints or canvases you may want to order to display at the wedding. (Typically, 3-4 months)
Many brides opt to do their portraits in a studio or at their venue, so be sure to make sure your chosen location has availability as well.
Now it’s time to enjoy the day and have some fun! The really special part of wedding photography is that through these photos, one of the most special times of your life is preserved for you to have and look back on for the rest of your lives together. Your bridal session is the perfect example of that and it is one of the reasons why I love them so much.
There is something magical about seeing your entire look brought together for the first time and it really shines through during these sessions.
